- Abstract
- In EPCglobal Class 1 Generation 2 standard (rev.2), XPC's specific bits are used to extend tag facilities. However, it states that currently corresponding bits cannot be used for any company/individual's purpose. This paper proposes a new steganographic technique to add new functionalities while conforming to EPCglobal Class Generation-2 standard. This method is to detect the additional 8 bits message at the end of the replay message (next to CRC).) We implemented the proposed method and experimental results show that the readers which support this technique are able to distinguish between normal tags and the extended tags while normal readers recognize extended tags as standard ones.
