- Abstract
- The magnetic properties of Ti50Zr33Ni17 quasicrystals were investigated by using a vibrating sample magnetometer at various temperatures. The results demonstrated that Ti-Zr-Ni quasicrystals were paramagnetic with no hint of magnetic hysteresis from 25 to 300 K. The value of mass magnetic susceptibility, chi(9), measured at 25 K was 15 % larger than that of the one measured at 100 K. The magnetization of the quasicrystal was stable at high temperatures and low applied magnetic fields, suggesting that the magnetization stability of Ti50Zr33Ni17 quasicrystals is strongly influenced by the temperature and by the intensity of the applied magnetic field.
