애니메이션 시나리오의 영웅 서사적 원형과 변형에 관한 연구

Abstract

The advance in digital technology has opened up a new, unprecedented chapter for animation, which had never been imagined in the past. Specifically, the key mechanisms called 'technology' and 'media' have contributed to changing the typical plot of heroic narrative animation scenarios, and new storytelling that capitalizes on media and belongs to the category of 'discourse' is being introduced. The purpose of this study was to delve into the heroic narrative archetype of the storytelling of Disney animation scenarios, which was adapted in a diverse way, in an effort to discuss the possibilities of animation as a multi-use genre that could satisfy consumer needs. As for the method of the research, works made by Walt Disney, one of leading producers producing animated films based on scenarios of heroic narrative approach, were analyzed to find out the characteristics of the archetypes of scenarios of heroic narrative, and works made by Japanimation of Japan and by Pixar and Dreamworks of the United States were presented as what's compared to the works of Walt Disney in terms of transformation. Japanimation employed a wide variety of subject matters and scenarios to convey philosophic messages, and the American companies tried to make themselves differentiated from Walt Disney. As interactivity with receivers and multi-form stories are increasingly stressed owing to the participatory attributes of digital environments, this study that focused on the transformation of scenario is expected to raise awareness about the necessity of considering not only the various factors of creation or production but transformation.
