Abstract
In this paper, an internal chip type antenna for penta-band (GSM850, GSM900, GSP, KPCS, USPCS) mobile handset is presented. The size of the proposed antenna is 20 × 3.2 × 8.2 mm3 to be easily installed to mobile handset. This chip type antenna is designed on FR-4(εr=4.4) by using PCB technology. The proposed antenna consists of the branch structure adding two different resonant structures and the tuning pattern. By adjusting three structures, this antenna has multi-wide band. The measured impedance bandwidth(under VSWR 3:1) on the ground having same size of mobile phone of general bar type or slide type is 160 MHz(880-1040 MHz), 90 MHz(1550-1640 MHz), and 330 MHz(1790- 2120 MHz).
