- Abstract
- A low-profile metal-plate monopole antenna for mobile handset operating over Digital-TV (DTV; 470-850 MHz) frequency band is proposed. The antenna consists of a folded rectangular patch and two slits, and has a small volume of 65 X 25 X 5 mm(3). The measured return loss for the proposed antenna at DTV frequency band is better than 10 dB. The antenna has omni-directional or monopole-like radiation patterns, with good antenna gain even for such a compact size.
