- Abstract
- Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the most promising techniques for 4th-generation communications systems and has gained considerable attention from the wireless communication industry. Many studies have been conducted to overcome the disadvantages of OFDM, and more are in progress, such as research on the Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) problem. In this paper, a recoverable peak cancellation (RPC) technique is introduced. In this technique, the cancelled part of an OFDM symbol can be recovered at the receiver. The bit error rate (BER) performance can be greatly improved and the efficiency of the PAPR reduction is nearly that of the clipping method, at a cost of reducing symbol rate.
