- Abstract
- The electrostatic modes of dusty ion-acoustic surface waves propagating on the interface between a vacuum and a Lorentzian plasma are kinetically investigated by using the dispersion relation based on the Vlasov-Maxwell equations. In the long wavelength limit, the ion-acoustic surface wave in a dusty Lorentzian plasma is found to be slower as the non-thermality increases, i.e., the spectral index k decreases, when the phase velocity is in the range of v(i) << w/k << v(e). The wave is, however, found to be faster as the ratio of ions to electrons, delta, increases. The results show that, compared to the parameter k or delta, both the phase and the group velocities of the wave are relatively insensitive to the wavelength when k(x)lambda(e)-> 0.
