Abstract
In communication systems, in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) amplitude and phase imbalances and an impulsive noise can cause severe performance degradation. In this paper, we derive the exact expression for the average symbol error rate of M-ary phase shift keying with I/Q imbalances over the Nakagami-m fading channel in the presence of impulsive noise. We validate the derived expression through computer simulations and show that the theoretical results perfectly match the simulation results under various simulation conditions.
