- Abstract
- According to the OECD recently, Korea is aging at the fastest rate among OECD countries. Elderly-friendly cities are being created around the world to prepare for social changes due to the increase in the elderly population. Focusing on the transportation area, which is eight areas of the elderly-friendly city, the smart bus stop installed in the elderly-friendly city is analyzed from the perspective of the elderly and the direction of improvement of the smart bus stop is presented. The purpose of this study is to select and analyze three Seongdong-type “smart shelters” in Seongdong-gu, defined as an elderly-friendly city and a smart city in Seoul. Components of smart bus stops are classified into BIS, kiosks, public Wi-Fi and chargers, unmanned vending machines, air purifiers and air sterilizers, air conditioners, solar panels, thermal chairs, emergency bells, AEDs, safety handles, exterior signs, interior and exterior designs, and furniture. Through the analysis of existing studies, characteristics such as functionality, comfort, safety, accessibility, and aesthetics were derived. As a result, comfort was the highest, but functionality and safety were the least. In terms of comfort, air purifiers, UV-air sterilizers, air conditioners, and solar panels are installed and operated automatically using smart technology. On the other hand, in functionality, kiosks and unmanned vending machines were not installed, and public Wi-Fi was inconvenient to use. In terms of safety, ADE and safety handles are not installed, and supplementation is needed. Through this study, in order to install a smart bus stop that is convenient for the elderly to use, convenient smart technologies that focus on functionality and safety in a smart environment should be further developed.
