발달장애인을 위한 경찰업무 관련 읽기 쉬운 자료의 국내외 사례 분석 -한국, 미국, 일본, 영국, 호주 사례를 중심으로-

Abstract

정보화 기반의 세계화는 정보의 빠른 공유와 습득을 가능하게 함과 동시에, 적응과 소외 현상에 관한새로운 정보격차를 양산하고 있다. 특히 발달장애인은정보 접근에 대한 신(新)소외 계층으로, 이들의 사회문화 적응을 돕기 위한 사용자 경험 중심의 정보 시각화디자인 가이드라인이 시급히 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 2,000년대부터 발행된 경찰 업무와 관련된 읽기쉬운 자료들을 한국, 미국, 일본, 영국, 호주 사례 중심으로 조사하였다. 조사된 사례는 내용 구성, 삽화와텍스트 디자인, 읽기 대상 측면에서 구분되는 특징들을 비교하여 그 시사점을 도출하였다. 그 결과 우리나라 사례는 주택, 돈 관리, 약 먹기등의 일상 정보 관련 내용 많았으나, 경찰업무 안내는다소 부족하였고, 관련 선행연구 역시 실제적으로 사용할 수 있는 자료 개발보다는 이론적 배경 탐색 연구에 한정된 것을 발견할 수 있었다. 국외 사례의 경우 발달장애인을 위한 경찰업무 및 역할 소개뿐만 아니라, 재소 시 생활 방법 등 경찰 및 법무 전 단계별로 필요한 상황에 맞는 내용을 다양하게 개발하고 있었다. 특히 자국에 머무르고 있는 발달장애인의 다양한 인종을 고려하여 다문화로 표현되는 그림과 다양한 언어 버전으로 제공되는 특징이 있었다. 읽기 쉬운 자료를 통한 경찰업무에 대한 이해는 발달장애인들의 가해자와 피해자, 양면의 상황에서 자신의 입장과 상황을 올바르게 대변할 수 있는 역량을키워줄 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 사용자 경험 서비스와 인지정보 디자인 측면의 다양한 읽기 쉬운 자료 디자인의 연구가 활발히 진행되길 기대한다.

Glottalization based on information enables rapid sharing and acquisition of information, while also producing new information gaps related to adaptation and alienation. In particular, people with developmental disabilities are the new underprivileged to access information, and information visualization design guidelines centered on user experience are urgently needed to help them adapt to social culture. In this study, Easy- To-Read data related to police work published from the 2000s were investigated focusing on cases in South Korea, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Australia. The investigated cases drew implications by comparing the characteristics distinguished in terms of content composition, illustration and text design, and reading object. As a result, South Korea’s cases contained a lot of daily information such as housing, money management, and taking medicine, but police guidance was somewhat insufficient, and related prior studies were also limited to theoretical background exploration research rather than actual data development. In the case of overseas cases, various contents suitable for necessary situations were developed at all stages of police and legal affairs, such as introduction of police work and roles for people with developmental disabilities, as well as life methods in case of imprisonment. In particular, considering the various races of people with developmental disabilities staying in their own country, there were characteristics of being provided in multicultural paintings and various language versions. Understanding police work through easy-to-read data will increase the ability of people with developmental disabilities to correctly represent their positions and situations in both situations. Therefore, it is expected that research on various legible data designs in terms of user experience services and cognitive information design will be actively conducted.
