Abstract
In this paper, multi-objective optimum design for efficiency, torque ripple, and line to line induced voltage of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor for heavy equipment traction was conducted. First, the design factors that greatly affect the performances were determined using analysis of variance. Based on the sensitive design factors, the experimental points for optimum design were selected using Latin hypercube sampling method. Then, the experiments were carried out using an electromagnetic finite element analysis. Based on the experiment results, the Gaussian process was used to create the surrogate model. Then, multi-objective optimum design using desirability function was carried out to create the optimum model. Finally, compared with efficiency, torque ripple, and line to line induced voltage of the initial model, improvement on the performances of the optimum model was confirmed.
