- Abstract
- t This study proposed a closed-loop and passive mixing strategy assisted heat-pump-driven liquid-desiccant (HPLD) air-conditioning system and experimentally analyzed its cooling, dehumidification and regeneration performances. The closed-loop strategy can reduce the desiccant-solution thermal loads, and the passive mixing strategy can practically maintain the solution concentration based on the density difference between the weak and strong solutions. The results showed that the solution temperatures and concentrations of the absorber and regenerator can be properly maintained via the passive mixing process. Therefore, the converged dehumidification rate was shown to be 4.3 g/kg and the converged cooling capacity was shown to be 5.4 kW, which satisfied the target performance. Consequently, the closed-loop and passive mixing strategy can be concluded to be applicable to the HPLD air-conditioning system.
