수필을 통해 본 이육사의 문학과 삶 - <계절의 오행>과 <고란>을 중심으로 -

Abstract

이 글은 이육사의 수필을 통해 육사의 문학과 삶을 이해하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 유년 시절부터의 회고가 담긴 <계절의 오행>과 육사의 말년이 잘 드러난 <고란>을 중심으로 세 가지 지점에서 육사의 문학과 삶을 재조명하였다. 첫째, <계절의 오행>은 육사가 독립운동가로서 자랄 수밖에 없었던 내력과, 자신과 민족을 위해 세계로 나아가고자 했던 의지를 발견할 수 있었다. 둘째, 그의 마지막 수필인 <고란>에는 독립운동을 하던 북경 생활을 떠올리는 육사의 모습이 나타났다. 이는 그 이후 육사의 행적과 함께 볼 때, 문사에서 투사로 다시 돌아가고자 하는 그의 의지가 담긴 것이었다. 이로써 육사는 오늘날 우리의 호흡을 작흥하는 독립운동가이자 시인으로 남게 되었다.

The purpose of this article is to understand the literature and life of Lee Yuksa through his essays. The literature and life of Yuksa were re-examined at two points, focusing on “Five Elements of the Season”, which contains retrospectives from childhood, and “Goran”, which reveals the later years of Yuksa. First, “Five Elements of the Season” found the history of Yuksa’s posibility to grow up as an independence activist and his willingness to expand his activism to the external world for himself and his people. Second, his last essay, “Goran”, showed the appearance of Yuksa who recalled his life in Beijing where he did the independence movement. This was his willingness to reshift from poet to fighter in view of the history of Yuksa. As a result, Yuksa remained as an independence activist and poet who inspire us today.
