코로나 팬데믹 기간 동안 중학생들의 온라인 교육에 대한 학습경험과 요구

Abstract

코로나 19 감염병 확산으로 대면강의가 불가능하게 되면서 학교들은 오프라인 강의들을 원격강의로 전환하게 되었고, 팬데믹이 끝난 시점에도 교육환경에 ICT 기술을 적용한 디지털 전환이 가속화되면서 온오프라인 경계가 유연한 교육환경에 대한 관심이 늘어나고 있다. 본 연구는 팬데믹 기간동안의 중학생들의 온라인 학습경험을 분석하고 요구도를 파악하고자 중학생을 대상으로 Community of Inquiry 프레임워크를 활용한 설문조사를 수행하였다. 분석결과, 중학교 학생들의 온라인 수업에 대한 만족도와 4가지 차원에서의 평가 점수들이 전반적으로 낮아, 교수자들과 학생들이 준비가 되지 못한 상태에서 어려움을 겪은 것으로 판단된다. 온라인 교육환경에서 교수자와 학습자의 탐구공동체 의식을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하기 위해서는 낮은 점수의 항목들의 중심으로 해결방안들을 모색할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 팬데믹 기간동안 중학생들의 온라인 학습경험을 분석함으로써 향후 하이브리드 교육의 바람직한 방향을 제시하는데 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

As face-to-face lectures became impossible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools transitioned offline lectures to remote lectures. The digital transformation by applying information and communication technology in the educational environment accelerated, sparking interest in education with flexible boundaries between online and offline modalities. This study aims to analyze middle school students' online learning experiences during the pandemic. A survey was conducted using the community of inquiry framework targeting middle school students who had experienced online classes during the pandemic. The results indicated that the middle school students' satisfaction and evaluation scores in four dimensions were overall low. It is necessary to seek solutions focusing on low-scoring items to suggest ways to increase the sense of community of inquiry among instructors and learners. This study is significant as it provides valuable data to guide future hybrid education initiatives.
