Abstract
For evaluating accurately the seismic performance of braced frame, it is necessary that analytical models represent similarly the hysteretic behavior and the fracture of braces in experiment. To simulate the hysteresis curve of braces, this study utilizes the physical theory model suggested by the previous researcher. Furthermore, this study developed the damage index by introducing the refined fatigue parameters to predict the fracture generated by local buckling in various bracing member. In the damage index, the damage is cumulated using the fatigue parameter calibrated from not member test but fatigue test. As a result, the refined fatigue parameters reflecting the effect of local buckling can be determined by regression analysis according to the width-thickness ratio. Through the comparison of the experimental and analytical results to verify the analytical model with the refined fatigue parameters, it is revealed that the fracture model proposed by this study predicts well the time fracture occurs in test results than that of previous studies.
