- Abstract
- In this paper, a miniaturized 2 × 2 MIMO dual-wideband ground radiation antenna targeting Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 standards using 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands with sufficient antenna performance was designed. The proposed antenna system contains four identical 4 mm × 6 mm antennas of the internal loop type and two identical 6 mm × 6 mm isolators containing lumped LC elements. This paper considers maximizing the impedance bandwidth using an advanced impedance control technique and isolation enhancement through T-shaped isolators. To achieve dual-wideband resonance, an impedance control method using LC parameter value control is employed by utilizing the coupling between the ground plane, the voltage source, the feed loop, and the radiation loop in each radiation band. The operating principle of the T-shaped isolator was proposed using the scattering matrix and impedance matching. Simulated results showed that the proposed antenna can cover 96 MHz at the 2.4 GHz band and 2,232 MHz at both the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands with an impedance bandwidth of -10 dB and isolation performance of less than − 20 dB across all frequency bands. Average measured efficiencies of 52%, 74%, and 80% were obtained for the corresponding operating bands.
