평생교육 관점의 민화교육의 효과성: 온라인 참여관찰과 교육 참여자의 자기평가 분석을 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 서울시의 평생교육 지원사업인 ‘동네배움터’사례를 중심으로 지역사회에서 평생교육으로서의 예술교육이 시민 참여자에게 어떠한 의미와 역할을 하는지 살피는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울시 강북구에위치한 작은 도서관 A에서 2022년 7월부터 8월까지 매주 1회 총 6차시로 적용된 민화 예술교육 결과를 온라인 소통창구 참여 관찰(Netnography)과 참여자의 자기평가(Self-assessment)을 통해 그 효과성을 분석하였다. 온라인 소통창구의 유지 기간은 총 16주이며, 참여 관찰 자료는 담화, 사진, 그림 등이다. 수집된 자료는 Miles & Huberman(1994)의 자료 분석 3단계를 통해 실시해 의미를 분석하고, 이후 통합분석을 통해 결론을 도출하였다. 그 결과, 예술교육으로부터 확장된 인식변화는 인간의 삶의 질뿐만 아니라 장기적으로 그사회의 환경과 문화를 유지시키는 원동력이 될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 평생교육은 지역사회에 속해있는 조직, 기관들의 목표를 지역민들과 자연스럽게 공유하게 하여 공공의 이익과 지속 가능한 삶을 가능하게하였다. 특히 양적으로 풍부한 평생교육 프로그램을 제공하는 것은 학습자들의 과거 경험들과 연결되어, 새로운 학습을 위한 출발점이 될 수 있었다. 혁신기술의 발달과 물질 만능주의로 인해 여러 가지 문제가 발생하는 시점에서 본 연구가 예술교육이 이와 같은 고민을 덜어주는 친근하고 용이한 방법적 도구가 될 수 있다는 근거가 되길 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the meaning and role of art education as a lifelong educa- tion for citizens in the community, focusing on the case of "Neighborhood Learning Center," a lifelong education support project in Seoul. To this end, the effectiveness of folk painting art education results, which were applied once a week from July to August 2022 at a small library A in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, was analyzed through online communication window participation observation (Netnography) and self-assessment (Self-assessment). The maintenance period of the online communication window is a total of 16 weeks, and participation observation materials include discourse, photos, and pictures. The collected data were conducted through the third stage of data analysis by Miles & Huberman (1994) to analyze the meaning, and then conclusions were drawn through integrated analysis. As a re- sult, it was confirmed that the change in perception extended from art education can be a driving force to maintain not only the quality of human life but also the environment and culture of that so- ciety in the long run. In addition, lifelong education naturally shared the goals of organizations and institutions belonging to the community with the local people, enabling public interests and sustain- able lives. In particular, providing quantitatively rich lifelong education programs could be a starting point for new learning by connecting with learners' past experiences. At a time when various prob- lems arise due to the development of innovative technology and materialism, this study is expected to serve as a basis for art education to be a friendly and easy methodical tool to relieve such concerns.
