Abstract
In this paper, computational analysis was carried out using a model equipped with a lift fan with the same thrust as the maximum take-off weight of the RC aircraft using the Onera M6 wing. Freestream velocity and angle of attack were used as variables to analyze the pressure distribution of the wing surface and the flow characteristics. Fan-in-Wing analysis showed that the vertical take-off and landing functions were highlighted at 3m/s and the lift coefficient of Fan-in-Wing at this time was about 14% higher than the Onera M6. In conclusion, when the Onera M6 wing was equipped with a lift fan with the same thrust as the maximum take-off weight of the RC airplane, it showed better performance in terms of lift coefficient in low-speed flight where vertical take-off and landing performance was more pronounced than high-speed flight. Therefore, when there is not enough take-off space and must meet low-speed flight condition, it is considered suitable to use Fan-in-Wing.
