- Abstract
- Graphene oxide is a novel class of carbon material that is being extensively studied in the field of nanocomposites. This unique sheet of mixed sp(2\) lattice clusters and oxygen functionalities is an optimal platform for various hybrid functionalization which imbues the original sheet with some novel characteristics. A variety of hybrid strategies allow graphene to be a promising candidate for nanocomposites fabrication. Our review analyzes the types of molecular interactions that are utilized during the formation of graphene-based composites through various examples. Also the review will highlight the recent advances in hybridization strategy of graphene with numerous counterpart materials and discuss their broad applications as well.
