- Abstract
- In this study, Combustion chamber geometry and operating conditions were optimized by numerical analysis. The objective of this study is reducing emissions and ISFC(indicated specific fuel consumption) by optimizing bowl geometry and injection properties using KIVA-3V. μGA(micro genetic algorithm) was used in optimization and this method was useful for numerical analysis as KIVA-3V, In order to use KIVA-3V with optimization tool, auto mesh generation code and other support codes were needed. optimized model was slightly different with base model in geometry and operation condition. Start of Pilot injection timing was advanced and dwell time became longer.
