- Abstract
- In this work, we propose wearable device worn on the wrist based on structured light pattern. The device consists of infrared laser pattern projector and infrared camera. To reduce power consumption and computation, a thin strip of structured light pattern of about 20 rows is used instead of the entire 2D image. Depth information of the finger from the wrist is computed when it crosses the projected pattern area. To obtain depth information in real-time, we used one shot structured light pattern proposed by Vuylsteke. We tested the proposed method by projecting the pattern using the projector for the virtual keyboard application. As a result, we showed that real-time computation of the finger position is possible.
