- Abstract
- A printed two-port ultra-wideband (UIVB) multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with a compact dimension of 24 mm x 34 mm x 0.787 mm is proposed for UWB communication applications. The proposed antenna consists of two identical planar monopole antennas with a decoupling structure on the ground plane. Isolation between two radiators is improved by suppressing the surface current flow through the ground plane. The simulated impedance bandwidth (S-11 <-10 dB) is 8.2 GHz from 2.44 to 10.64 GHz. The proposed antenna has a low mutual coupling of less than -15 dB over the target hand (3.1 - 10.6 GHz). Therefore, the proposed antenna is a good candidate for UWB MIMO portable applications.
