dc.description.abstract | An electric-All-Wheel Drive(e-AWD) system of hybrid vehicle can achieve high-performance handling characteristics and fuel efficiency improvement. In the case of a vehicle equipped with the system, the front wheels are driven by the engine and the rear wheels are equipped with a Twin Motor drive Unit (TMU) composed of two motors and planetary gears for left and right wheel torque distribution. This allows independent driving force and regenerative braking force to be distributed to the left and right wheel on the rear wheels. In this paper, the front wheel torque from the engine and the rear wheel torque from the e-AWD module are distributed according to the driver's pedal and steering input based on Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle(PHEV). The algorithm proposed in this paper optimizes the driving stability of the vehicle according to driving conditions and improves the fuel efficiency by using the TMU through distribution of left and right driving force and regenerative braking force of the rear wheels.
