Lossless Coding Experiments result for 3DMC

Abstract

Lossless or near-lossless support of 3D mesh compression is very important for 3D character archiving and exchange service. Losselss and near-lossless compression is also very important in MPEG-4 AFX where many new modalities are based on 3D mesh coding. The explicit support on lossless and near- lossless compression will be certainly helpful to make 3DMC as a generic tool that supports the 3D mesh.
