A new species of Huntemannia (Copepoda: Harpacticoida: Huntemanniidae) associated with Zostera japonica from Seungbong Island, Korea

Abstract

A new species belonging to the genus Huntemannia of the family Huntemanniidae Por, 1986 is described on the basis of specimens of both sexes collected from the seagrass,Zostera japonica Ascher and Graeb. of Seungbong Island, Korea. The new species differs in having 2 setae on exopod 2 of female legs 2-4, 3 setae on exopod of male legs 3-4 and modified seta on exopod 3 of leg 3 - 4 in male. Anmemended table of setal formula in legs 2 - 4 and habitat for the genus is provided.
