Nanometer scale arrays have attracted considerable research interest in recint years because of their potential application for cataytic layer for growing the carbon nanotubes. Fabricating this structure is a challenge of catalytic metal nanodots. In this work, we describes a very simple methods to fabricate a macroscopic highly ordered array of Ni, Co, Ni/Co nanodots via sputter deposition of very thin films under a vacuum. The size of the round nanodots of catalytic mdtal can be controlled via the original thickness of the layers and the heat treatment temperature as well as time for the films.-
