dc.description.abstractIn order to ensure the reliability and reduce the eddy current loss at the generator core end area, an optimized core end step design is required. This paper reports a design optimization and verification test results of the generator core end step. The 3D-electromagnetic field analysis was performed in open circuit condition to optimize the core end step. The magnetic flux density and temperature rise were measured in generator factory test and confirmed to be consistent with the analysis results.-
