A Study of Methodological Evaluating and Testing Standards for on-Board Charger

Abstract

Recently, many kinds of OBC (On-Board Charger) are developed according to manufacture EV (Electric Vehicle) charger. But, there is no standards for testing OBC and it is not included as a vehicle device. So, there is no international standards for OBC. Nevertheless, many manufacturer want to verify and test their OBS. Especially, testing OBC is mandatory for government subsidies. To solve this problem, this study show the testing clauses and procedure for testing OBC by combined IEC, ISO and UL standard. They include electrical test, mechanical test and safety tests. The certificated report was issued and it is possible to get the government subsidies.
