Abstract
The study finds human sensibility evaluation elements in the public space of elementary schools and consequently suggests the direction of human sensibility design, which is applicable to education facilities in Korea. In initial stages, various academical areas are considered, such as pedagogy, human sensibility ergonomics, architecture design, and psychoanalytics. The roles of human sensibility are divided into three segments; 1) Sociality development, 2) Creativity development, and 3) Intellectual and Emotional development. And the human sensibility space design is comprised of six elements; (A) Open space, (B) Space inducing physical movement and pause, (C) Privacy space, (D) Non-routine space, (E) Comfortable and functional space and (F) Eco-friendly space. When these evaluation elements are tested in North European school, the study discovers that these elements are applied in the design and the public spaces are planned to promote cooperation and communication in various ways.
