- Abstract
- As one of the continuous researches on the traditional houses in the east Asia, this study aims to analyze the differences of the sense of boundary generated by the changes of materiality on the skin of the house structures. The peculiarity and the identity revealed after the modern history connects to the issue of diversity in several levels. The concept of division on the inside and outside from the beginning of the dwelling concept was subdivided by the local climate and customs, and the space structure connects to the each identity including the diverse boundary layouts. So, this study focused on the comparison the materiality to the sense of boundary of traditional houses in three countries since modern ages. Each own value system toward residence attitude was not only accumulated in their own residential culture but also in the commonness which established surroundings accordingly to the given context throughout the whole areas.
