Abstract
The purpose of this study was to define that the effect of Taekwondo participation on the factor relative to the brain nerve growth in elementary school girls. Twenty elementary school girls participated in this study and were divided into Taekwondo group (EG, n=10) and control group (CG, n=10). The frequency, duration, and intensity of Taekwondo in this study were four times a week, 50 minutes per each time, and 50 ~ 70% of HRR during 12 weeks, respectively. The data of blood samples was collected before and after the experiment. In results, before and after 12 weeks of Taekwondo, the expression of BDNF showed a significant increase in BDNF(p<.001) and NGF showed a significant increase of in NGF(p<.05). In conclusions, Taekwondo training may help to increase the expression of BDNF and NGF positively in the elementary school girls.
