- Abstract
- 이 연구는 평창동계올림픽 개회식의 <태극: 우 주의 조화>공연의 프로젝션매핑 영상이 취하고 있는 개념적인 입장과 이론적 배경에 집중한다. 태극 표현에 대한 개념적 입장으로, 태극기에 사용된 태극과 사괘의 중국 유래에 대한 상반된 주장들을 살펴보고, 역사를 통해 전래되고 전이되 는 문화의 본질을 인정하는 입장을 밝힌다. 태극 표현에 대한 이론적 배경으로, 동양철학 에 국한되었을 것으로 예상했던 태극과 사괘의 우주에 대한 원리가 동서고금을 망라하여 다양한 학문들과 동일하거나 유사한 결론을 도출해내는 우연들에 주목한다. 동서양 간 동일성을 보이는 존재의 궁극적 근거에 대한 철학적, 수학적, 과학 적 배경에 대해 연구하여 태극의 보편타당성에 대해 논한다. 이러한 입장과 배경을 통해 <태극: 우주의 조 화>공연의 프로젝션매핑 영상의 전체적인 전개 방식과 재해석의 면면을 살펴본다.
