Abstract

This study aimed to find a prototype of Cathedral for pilgrimage after analyzing the quantity of the visitor change in liturgical place of catholic pilgrimage site. It selects four pilgrimage sites in Daejeon diocese which became part of cultural heritage. While the local cathedral has a certain scale service, scale of Catholic pilgrims to the Shrine has a significant change monthly. Thus cathedral in the Shrine is to be capable of absorbing changes in the visitor. As a result, the planning of the shrine have to be able to adapt the changing in the pilgrim by securing a large external variable worship space in addition to small cathedral for constant visitors. More progressive idea is to develop the cathedral type which integrated internal and external liturgical space.
