Abstract
In this paper, a simple relational expression is established through an impact assessment after extracting the uncertainty of new and renewable energy resources and the probabilistic characteristics of the demand-side resource and inputting a random variable using the moment method into the HOMER program to obtain the expected appropriate size and range. In the case where there is not enough supplier resource investment and there is no necessity to supply power to the peak load, the concept of a virtual generator that considers the reduction of the peak load was introduced, and the sensitivity considering the failure outage rate of the generator. Through the analysis, a methodology for obtaining the expected appropriate size for each facility of the microgrid is proposed as a relational formula with good field applicability by introducing a random variable. This was verified by a case study on a real developing country area. © 2021 Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers. All rights reserved.
