Abstract

The government and local governments are actively supporting and investing in education environment and welfare related areas targeting children and education facilities and environmental change for professional children's libraries can be said to be a very desirable social phenomenon. In the library related business field, professional children's library business especially for children has also shown change and development since 2005 and can be said to be beneficial in terms of social and cultural aspects because cognitive development is promoted according to personal and intelligent growth through education and reading during the critical period of children in the process of human growth. Korean children's libraries are rapidly increasing according to the policy support and 82 national․public and private children’s libraries were found to be operated for now. The importance of the impact of colors on the growth process of children has been recognized but there are not full studies on the color planning and analysis targeting space for reading at present and hence, this study is to increase expertise in colors of children’s libraries and establish a database for playing a basic role of children's library color planning.
