- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of Painting Activity Centered-Emotion Education Program on male students' alexithymia. It is conducted on a Korean version of Toronto Alexithymia Scales(TAS-20K) to alternative school male students in Seoul. 8 Students scoring over 60 with TAS-20K were selected for this study. Painting Activity Centered-Emotion Education Program were designed on R. Steiner's Erziehungskunst. This program consisted of warm-up, the appreciation of noted paintings-water color painting(activity), sharing on painting. Painting Activity Centered-Emotion Education Program included 8 sessions over 4 weeks. As a result of this study(one-group pretest-posttest design), alexithymia in the group of Emotion Education Program was significantly decreased. And the appreciation of noted paintings-water color painting was effective as a method of awareness &expression of male students' emotion. Finally, the implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future study were also discussed.
