- Abstract
- 칼럼-지향(column-oriented) DBMS란 기존 DBMS에서의 대표적 저장 방식인 row단위로 저장했던 것(로우-지향, row-oriented)과 달리 칼럼(column) 단위로 데이터를 저장하고 관리하는 DBMS를 말한다. 이러한 저장기법의 차이는 효율적인 질의 처리의 전반적인 메커니즘에 있어 로우-지향 DBMS와 다른 방식을 요구하게 된다. 이 논문에서는 칼럼-지향 데이터베이스에 대한 스타 스키마 질의의 효율적인 조인 기법을 다루었다. 본 논문은 조인 맵핑 트리를 이용한 칼럼-지향 조인 기법을 실제 오픈 소스인 C-Store 칼럼-지향 DBMS에서의 구현을 상세히 설명하였고 성능 분석을 실시하였다.
