Abstract
An efficient method is presented to extract the active distortions of polarimetric radar systems without the measurement of a point calibration target under field conditions. The active distortions are extracted using the signal returned from the antenna input. The back-scattering coefficients of distributed targets measured using the proposed method agree quite well with results of numerical simulations and spaceborne SAR measurements.
