- Abstract
- Nowadays, a smartphone is an indispensable tool for everyday living and smartphone enthusiasts are eager to upgrade the performance of their devices. In this paper we present an approach to improve the performance of a smartphone. The approach involves two main techniques: increasing the speed of the device by overclocking it and optimizing memory usage by deleting unnecessary apps while replacing apps with more efficient ones. Detailed procedures of these optimization steps are provided which ordinary users can apply. Using these same techniques, we performed optimizing experiments on an Android phone and included the results. The overclocking effect showed significant performance improvements and stable functioning with a minor increase in device temperature. Memory cleaning also showed significant savings in terms of memory space in the device.
