Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out and compare the descriptive data and the anaerobic power of elite track cyclists by sex. Wingate Anaerobic Test (WAnT) was chosen to explore anaerobic power and the load of this study was chosen 13.3% of body weight. The participants in this study were 4 male American elite track cyclists and 4 female American elite track cyclists . The mean peak power (PP), relative peak power (RPP), mean power (MP), and relative mean power (RMP) values of the male American elite track cyclists were 1463.25±96.98 W, 18.78±1.58 W· kg-1, 984.75±67.46 W and 12.70±1.66 W·kg-1, respectively. The mean peak power (PP), relative peak power (RPP), mean power (MP), and relative mean power (RMP) values of the female American elite track cyclists were 1331.5±199.84 W, 22.12±4.56 W· kg-1, 951±158.44 W, and 15.87±4.10 W·kg-1, respectively. Based on the above research methods and procedures, this study produced the following results. First, there were height and weight differences between man and woman elite cyclists, but no age differences. Second, man elite cyclists had a higher peak power and mean power than woman elite cyclists, but woman elite cyclists had a higher relative power both peak and mean power.
