- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to determine the association of concentration of health-related physical fitness, body composition, cytokine in young female. The 113 young females (age: 20.20 ± 1.91yrs, BMI: 22.79 ± 2.46Kg/m2) were participated in this study. We measured percent body fat, fat mass, weight, body mass index, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiorespiratory endurance, health-related physical fitness point(HPFP) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) level using an enzymatic method. Percent body fat, fat mass, weight, height and body mass index were analyzed using bioelectrical impedance(Biospace Co.). Pearson product-moment correlation was used to investigate correlations between TNF-α and concentration of body composition, health-related physical fitness. Multiple linear regression was used to examine the associations between TNF-α and concentration of body composition, health-related physical fitness. TNF-α was significantly associated with cardiorespiratory endurance(r=-.408, p=.000) and HPFP(r=.339, p=.000). In multiple linear regression analysis, cardiorespiratory endurance(t=-2.831), muscular endurance(t=-2.640), HPFP(t=4.993) and muscular strength(t=-3.162) were shown to be significant predictors of cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular endurance and HPFP account for a variance in TNF-α of 64% in young female. We concluded that in order tp properly adjust the TNF-α in young female, a most effective strategy is to reduce cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular endurance and HPFP.
