- Abstract
- A series of new blue emitting materials; 9,10-diotolylanthracene (1), 2-tert-butyl-9,10-diphenylanthracene (2), 10,10′-diphenyl-9,9′- bianthracene (3), and 1,4-bis(10-phenylanthracen-9-yl)benzene (4) were designed and synthesized for organic lightemitting diodes (OLEDs). In order to test the electroluminescent properties of 1-4, those were used as the host materials for the blue dopant materials, PFVtPh and PCVtPh. Using 2 as host material for PFVtPh blue dopant material, the device shows high EL efficiencies with 5.63 cd/A, 4.13 lm/W, and 4.49 % (3.92 cd/A, 1.50 lm/W, and 3.04 % at 20 mA/cm 2) with the CIE coordinate of (0.152, 0.154). ©2010 IEEE.
