도날드 저드 作品에 나타난 非關係的 構成의 建築으로의 轉移에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study is aimed at tracking the conceptual formation of the Minimal Art Movement through the transformation process of Donald Judd's painting, sculpture, and architectural pieces, and analyzing the fundamental probability caused by the correlation between architecture and other art forms through observing morphological characteristics. He sought reality in time and space based on clear and coherent aesthetic principles, and emphasized totality and uniformity to seek an integrated principle of aesthetics in art. Based upon this concept, he eliminated relational composition methods which can summon suggestion and illusion; he emphasizes 'objecthood' and 'sachlichkeit' as an art form 'of its own'. This characteristic is expressed as a simplified cube which has an exterior similar to manufactured products in 'Specific object', and in architecture he uses designs that eliminate unnecessary shapes or decoration of geometrical shapes in repetition - creating simple, repetitive and single morphological characteristic.
