- Abstract
- Data Broadcasting service is an essential part of the digital broadcasting and provides diverse services by exploiting underlying digital transmission technology. Thus various middleware standards for data broadcasting have been established by international organizations such as MHP of DVB, DASE and ACAP of A TSC and BML of ARIB. On the other hand, these multiple incompatible middlewares result in complicated problems, i.e. extra cost for redundant application development, duplicated middleware implementation and interchange problem of data contents over different middleware specifications. By suggesting one of a solution to this engineering problem, this paper proposes an integrated data broadcasting architecture based on the component-based approach. Through the precise comparison and analysis of each middleware standards, we identify the characteristics of each middleware and integrate the core component of data broadcasting in the design, thus our architecture can be flexibly compatible with various standards. We expect that this integration can solve the preceding problems by the proposed architecture.(1)
