Abstract
Micro-gear extrusion of the fine-grained equal channel angular pressed (ECAPed) AZ31 alloy was successfully performed. High strength gears (yield stress > 350 MPa) could be produced by effective grain-refinement through ECAP and texture restoration to the original state before ECAP by subsequent extrusion.
