Abstract
In many modern cities, cultural vitalization and the development of tourist resources is perceived to provide an important way to a new industry and museums and art museums or galleries in the urban areas play an important role of landmark as crucial space. Contemporary museums and art museums developed in this vein went beyond the basic roles of collection, archives, education, and display; and they now provide a cultural complex for leisure and cultural and educational activities as symbolic space of a city. In addition, many plans are devised to develop museums in a location with original cultural and historical values or with natural features like the ocean, a river, or a lake, or a place inside a city for recreation. In addition, water space inside and outside the museum can be a critical element to make balance between nature, people, and building, diversifying the experiences of a building. In a museum with symbolism and location of urban area, water space is a significant element that connects people with nature and nature with structure. This study aims to examine the cases of various museums and art museums/galleries around the world, which has water element and analyze its characteristics and types.
