- Abstract
- This study analyzed and examined the transition of viewing behaviors due to the influence of the interchange among unspecified public on spectators' flow.As for the study method, exhibition galleries were classified into six types on the subjects of galleries in national museums, so that the correlation regarding viewing behaviors and flows could be derived according to the type of exhibition galleries. Five exhibition galleries in National Museum of Korea were selected and the investigation was performed. In regard to the viewing behavior and influence among spectators on each other, the flow of unspecified public spectators was analyzed according to the type of exhibition galleries, through observing and investigating the viewing density, the length of stay in the gallery, flow quantity of spectators entering and leaving the gallery, distribution of spectators, and viewing behavior of each gallery. The purpose of this study is to make better plans for museums, using the characteristics of galleries by types and their viewing behaviors as the standard or guide that can predict and apply the viewing behavior of spectators in the level of disposition of exhibition galleries.
