- Abstract
- Ministry of education has adopted the 7th course of study since the basic Chinese characters to be taught, 1800 letters was newly regulated on December in 2000. Now, as introducing 'A five-day schoolwork week system', the research and development of the plan for reforming a curriculum of Chinese writings is going to be undertaken to find a device for improving a curriculum of Chinese writings in 2006. At this time, the fact that the basic Chinese Character to be taught should be considered seriously is being brought up. Because it is the important problem in the field of teaching now and closely related with a new course of study: most subjects are changed into optional subjects and the lesson hours lessen.
This study examined the problem of the basic Chinese Character to be taught in connection with some realistic aspects like the formation of curricula, the sanction of textbooks, and the composition of the textbooks's contents. In result, the fact that the regulations affecting the 1800 letters should be applied more flexibly.
