Abstract
The strength of a steel-concrete composite column is affected by variations in the strengths of concrete and steel, the cross-sectional dimensions of concrete and steel section, the placement of steel section and reinforcing bars, the strength model itself, and so on. With these several variables, the strength which has been acquired by using Rackwitz-Fiessler transformation method will be analyzed and compared with the strength by reinforced-concrete criteria and limit state design(LSD) criteria. The strength statistics suggested in this study will be useful for future evaluation of probability-based resistance factors for the strengths of the composite columns or the composite beam-columns.
