Abstract
Possibility is considered of using the contact electrical conductivity for analyzing of boundary lubricating film (BF) behavior in response to temperature variation. The main mechanisms of contact conductivity in the temperature range typical for lubricated tribosystems are discussed and the test data on the temperature influence on BF in lubricated point contacts are presented. Basic trends in use of electrical methods in thermal tribotests are reviewed.
